General Overview

Good Impact Resistance

Working Temperature: 0°C to 60°C

Inherently Fire Retardant

Good UV Resistance

Clear PVC sheets

UPVC sheet, is rigid, stiff and strong, it has good impact strength, low moisture absorption and is inherently flame retardant.

PVC performs well when exposed to many salt solutions, acids and alkalis.

Below freezing it becomes very brittle.

Our PVC sheet is perfect for fabrication as it can be easily formed, hot gas welded & solvent cemented.

General Applications for Grey UPVC Sheet

Pigmented grades of UPVC sheet are generally used for all manner of cladding applications from food production and preparation to clean rooms, ventilation and ducting. It is great for thermoforming and fabrication work.

Installation & Usage

Cutting

Panels are best cut to size using a circular saw or band saw blades which are sharp, with 0° or negative front rake and plenty of clearance to facilitate swarf removal.  Jig saws tend to overheat the swarf which melts and fuses back on to the material. Avoid chipping and de-burr all edges before fitting.

Fixing

Ensure adequate allowance for expansion, a good rule of thumb is to use 5mm per metre length and width. Do not overtighten fastenings. Because of thermal expansion, drill any holes twice the diameter of the fastener and use washers both sides to spread the load.  Never use self tapping screws cutting into the material itself.

Sealants

During installation as a cladding; because of the expected normal thermal expansion and movement in the material, flexible mastics sealants have to be used and these must be "food grade".
